About Me

I'm Allan Searle, a photographer based in Dorset, where I've lived my entire life.

I've always felt fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country, with its dramatic coastline, changing weather and constantly shifting light. Dorset has become a major part of my photography, although my camera has also accompanied me on travels around the UK and further afield.

My interest in photography began many years ago through experimenting with light and long exposures. I was fascinated by the way a camera could reveal things that couldn't be seen with the naked eye. That curiosity has never really left me.

Today, I'm particularly drawn to dramatic landscapes, atmospheric conditions, night skies and unusual natural events. Whether I'm photographing lightning over the coast, the Moon rising above a familiar landmark or experimenting with light painting, I enjoy finding ways to show the world a little differently.

For me, photography is still very much about exploring, experimenting and discovering something unexpected.
